Auch in dieser Serie geht es dem Künstler meist nicht nur um die bloße Abbildung der Protagonisten. Lohren verknüpft in seinen dynamischen Collagen der Serie „Heroes“ berühmte Persönlichkeiten und unvergessene Motive aus den 1950er, 1960er und 1970er Jahren. Der Künstler gestaltet durch die Kombination aus Farben, Fotografien und Text moderne, ansprechende Pop Art. Burkhard Lohren präsentiert zum Beispiel eine strahlende Marilyn Monroe mit Zitaten der Hollywood-Ikone und Fundstücken aus ihrem Leben. Collagen vieler Musik-Idole wie Elvis Presley, David Bowie oder Johnny Cash enthalten Textpassagen ihrer bekannten Songs, Fragmente von Tour-Postern oder Konzertkarten. Ein Film-Still aus „Der Texaner“ zeigt Clint Eastwood mit seinen Revolvern, darunter platziert der Künstler einen Auszug aus dem 2. Zusatzartikel zur Verfassung der Vereinigten Staaten, der das Recht auf Besitz und Tragen von Waffen behandelt.
In this series as well, the artist is not only concerned with the mere depiction of the protagonists. In his dynamic collages of the series „Heroes“, Lohren connects famous personalities and unforgettable motifs from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Through the combination of colors, photographs and text, the artist creates modern, attractive Pop Art. For example, Burkhard Lohren presents a radiant Marilyn Monroe with quotations from her and found items from her life. Collages of many music idols like Elvis Presley, David Bowie or Johnny Cash contain text passages of their well-known songs, fragments of tour posters or concert tickets. A film still from „The Texan“ shows Clint Eastwood with his revolvers – below the artist placed an excerpt from the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which deals with the right to possess and carry weapons.
